Dog Boarding for Brookfield — Thirteen Miles In, One Address

Pet Care Plus is not in Brookfield. We are at one address in Chicago’s West Loop, where the same family has cared for dogs since 1998, in a facility built for animals from the ground up.

Brookfield is far enough out that the drive is a deliberate decision rather than a convenience. Families make it for what a single purpose-built resort can offer: private climate-controlled suites, a team on-site 24/7/365, five independent air-handling systems, and our own parking lot at the door.

Dog boarding starts at only $69.95 per night plus your choice of activity package. New clients receive their first night free when mentioning this page.

The Drive from Brookfield

Distance: roughly thirteen miles from Brookfield to 350 N. Laflin St.
Route: First Avenue or Harlem Avenue to I-290 east, exiting at Racine Avenue.
Timing: about 25 to 30 minutes outside peak hours.
Parking: on-site parking at the facility for drop-off and pick-up.
Pet Taxi: available as a named service; call to confirm coverage for your address.
Transit: the BNSF Metra line runs from Brookfield to Union Station, but a boarding drop-off is a car trip.
Hours: drop-off and pick-up from 6:45am weekdays, with extended hours available.

One location, one team, since 1998. The people who greet your dog at drop-off are the people who are there overnight.

Built From the Ground Up for Animals

The resort at 350 N. Laflin St. was purpose-built rather than converted. It has five air-handling systems, spacious private suites, and a 15,000-gallon in-ground heated saltwater outdoor pool. If you are driving in from Brookfield you are probably doing it for a longer stay — a holiday, a week away — rather than a single night. Longer stays are where the difference between a kennel and a resort actually shows: air handling, room to move, a pool in summer, and a team who notices on day four that a dog has gone quiet.

Rest Is Part of the Stay

We do not over-schedule boarding dogs. Dogs in our care have structured activity and real wind-down time, because an anxious, depleted dog at pick-up was not cared for, just occupied. Our team knows the difference between a quiet dog who is content and one who needs attention.

Before Your First Stay

Current Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations are required, along with a negative fecal result from the last six months. Most Brookfield veterinary practices will send records directly — worth requesting about a week ahead so nothing delays drop-off. We would also rather meet your dog before an overnight stay.

Brookfield Boarding FAQs

Does Pet Care Plus have a location in Brookfield?

No. There is one Pet Care Plus, in Chicago’s West Loop, and it has been in the same family since 1998. Everything is under one roof, which is why the team knows returning dogs by name.

How far is the resort from Brookfield?

Roughly thirteen miles. Most families allow about 25 to 30 minutes outside peak hours, taking First Avenue or Harlem up to I-290 and exiting at Racine Avenue. On-site parking is available at the building.

Is it worth the drive for a longer holiday stay?

That is the trip that usually makes sense from this distance. For a week or more, what matters is the things that are hard to see on a quick visit — ventilation, suite size, overnight staffing and whether anyone would notice a change in your dog on day four. We would rather you toured and judged that yourself before booking.

What vaccinations are required for boarding?

Pet Care Plus requires proof of current Rabies, the distemper combination (DHPP), and Bordetella vaccinations, along with a negative fecal result from the last six months. Pet Care Plus requires vaccination records; it does not administer vaccines.

How much does dog boarding cost?

Dog boarding starts at $69.95 per night plus your choice of activity package. Multiple suite sizes are available for dogs of all sizes and for multi-dog families, so call for a quote on your specific dates.

Is the facility supervised overnight?

Yes. Pet Care Plus is staffed 24/7/365, so pets at the resort are never left alone — overnight, on weekends, or over holidays.

What if my dog prefers quieter care?

Dogs stay in spacious, private, climate-controlled suites, and individual and special-care options are available for dogs that prefer a quieter approach. Mention it on your tour and the team will plan around it.

How do you care for senior dogs?

Senior care can include reduced stimulation, softer handling, and attentive observation. Our team recognizes when a dog needs rest or may need to see a veterinarian. Pet Care Plus provides boarding care and observation, not veterinary treatment.

Can I check in on my dog during a stay?

Yes. Pet Care Plus offers live webcam access so pet parents can view their pet remotely during a stay.

Can I see the boarding areas before I book?

Yes. In-person tours are available during business hours so you can see the suites, the pool, and the team before an overnight stay.

Structured Care. Lifelong Wellness.
